Vegan Spots – The Green Door

The other day, we stopped at one of my favourite restaurants for lunch: The Green Door. Located right across from St. Paul Univesity, it’s been- serving Ottawa ‘as close to its natural state’ food since 1988. It’s set up as a pay-by-weight buffet, which means the buffet area looks like this:22375200_10158044232873504_2064084706_o

So once you’ve got a little bit of everything on your plate (which you should, because the food is a-ma-zing; seriously), you head to the cash and then sit down and enjoy! The restaurant updates its menu all the time, so there’s always something new to try. I’ve never tried something there that I didn’t like. Everything is vegetarian, and the majority is vegan and gluten free. This time around, they had full pecan pies and pumpkin pies for sale, which looked absolutely delicious.

Some of the items on the menu this time around included stuffed tomatoes, hot tofu curry, avocado salad, hot and sour soup… and everything was lovely.

The seating area is very cozy too:ghjghjgghjghj

This is definitely one of my favourite vegan friendly restaurants in Ottawa, so go check it out!
